Use SaveV on YouTube videos and Shorts. Open any public video page, wait for the page to finish loading, and the download button should appear near the player.
Step 1
Install the extension
Add SaveV from the Chrome Web Store and keep it enabled in your browser toolbar.
Step 2
Open a YouTube video
Use a normal video page or a Short. The site must be fully loaded before the button can appear.
Step 3
Click SaveV Download
Choose the quality you want, then let the browser finish the download. The file is saved locally.
What to test
Standard long-form videos.
Shorts opened directly on their page.
Public videos with no sign-in required.
Higher quality options when the source provides them.
